First Official New Post!!!

Okay, so now that I've resurrected this old friend of mine, what do I do with it?

I've been considering this question all week trying to figure out what I should do for my first "real" post. As I said in what I'm now calling "the rock bottom post," I'm not going to restrict myself to license plates anymore. There will still be license plates spotlighted, but I've realized that it's really hard to consistently come up with good posts centered around them. So, in the spirit of diversification I would like to share a book that I purchased in December of 2009 during a WDW vacation with my mom:





I came across this one in the Animation Gallery and was immediately drawn to it. It's quite a small book, weighing in at only 160 pages, but the wealth of information held within those pages is immense! It is essentially written from the point of view of individuals from all walks of the Disney creative process from imagineers to lawyers, and everybody in-between. They talk about their individual creative processes as well as providing information to help you to get your own mind working more freely. I devoured this book on the first night that I had it and have made it a permanent fixture in what I call my sketch bag (I'll actually have a post on that at some point) because it's so great for when my ideas aren't running at full strength.

This book really has changed the way that I approach projects and the way that I communicate my own ideas to others, and I would recommend it for anyone interested in the imagineering process from the point of view of the imagineers. Oh yeah, and as a bonus for this week I thought I would share the painting I did for my Goddaughter, Gracie, for her birthday. She's turning 6 and is already a huge Disney freak, so I did a painting based off of some of the artwork I'd seen around Bay Lake Tower. Hope you like it!
